TALKIN' WITH LOUIS
An Afternoon With
Veteran Broadway, TV & Movie Actor
Louis Zorich
Sunday, March 21 at 3:00 pm
Louis Zorich, veteran actor of film, television and Broadway, will be entertaining us with his wonderful audition stories from his new book, What Have You Done? The Inside Stories of Auditioning, from the Ridiculous to the Sublime, on Sunday, March 21st in our theater. This event is a fundraiser to benefit the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts. Audience members will receive a copy of his book.
Mr. Zorich, a Tony and Drama Desk award nominated actor, has starred in numerous Broadway shows including Beckett with Laurence Olivier, The Odd Couple with Walter Matthau and Art Carney, Goodtime Charley alongside Joel Grey and Ann Reinking, Ma Rainy’s Black Bottom with Whoopi Goldberg and played Dustin Hoffman’s brother in Death of a Salesman. His movies include Muppets Take Manhattan and Fiddler on the Roof. He has appeared in hundreds of television shows such as Brooklyn Bridge and is well known for his recurring role as Paul Reiser's father on Mad About You for which he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award. Along with his wife, Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, Mr. Zorich founded and operated The Whole Theatre Co. in Montclair, NJ for 18 years.
His new book, What Have You Done?, opens the door to the often mysterious and frightening world of the audition and provides one actor's experiences of triumph and failure. Also included are stories from Robert De Niro, Madonna, Oprah Winfrey, Will Ferrell, and Nathan Lane, to name a few.
Tony award winner Frank Langella praised Mr. Zorich’s book saying,“The joy in reading this book comes from the realization that we are all constantly auditioning for something - and we are all the better for it - win or lose."
The fundraiser, billed as
TALKIN’ with louis!, will
take place at the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts, 593
Bloomfield Avenue in Bloomfield, NJ. The event begins at 3:00 p.m.,
and the discussion will be followed by a book signing and a light reception
where audience members can meet Mr. Zorich. Tickets for TALKIN’ WITH LOUIS! on Sunday, March 21st are
$25. The ticket price includes a copy of Mr. Zorich's book,
What Have You Done? The Inside Stories of Auditioning.
Reservations are highly recommended.

We Need Your Help!
The NJSDA Capital Campaign Continues.
Did you
know that New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts is a not-for-profit 501(c)3
Arts Education Organization? And we are growing! An additional 1500
square feet of new studio space means that the school can offer a deeper
level of programming for our adult, teen, tween and children's programs.
Saturday adult daytime
classes are offered so that our training program can reach more
people and new initiatives for those less fortunate members of our community
are being developed so we can provide greater outreach opportunities: The
Professional Showcase will be produced again this December 3 & 4 and the new Teen
Improv Troupe, Sparks of Insanity will be performing with our adult troupes
(Nutty By Nature and On The Spot)
at our ImprovMania festival on February 20! All of these programs fulfill
our mission to provide the highest quality programming available. But
tuition alone does not cover all the costs for teachers, materials and
rehearsal space. Please remember NJSDA when you consider your charitable
donations. Your donation will help make someone’s dream come true! For more information call (973)
